Whilst the principle of retail finance is very simple - letting your customers spread the cost of a purchase - the legal and regulatory side is quite complex. Failure to follow the rules could result in the Financial Conduct Authority fining your business or even banning it from offering retail finance.
This course fully explains the regulatory requirements, the terminology and the methodology needed to offer retail finance as well as how to optimise retail finance sales in-store and online.

This course is designed for all owners and employees in a business that
either currently, or plans to, offer retail finance as a payment method.
The course will teach you how to legally promote and use retail finance in-store, online and in all other forms of media.
As well as covering the legal details this course also aims to make sure you maximise each sale using retail finance.
By offering retail finance to your customers as a payment solution your
business has access to a significant part of the £86 billion* consumer
credit market.
The course uses examples such as the screenshot below to demonstrate how to make the most of each sale.

This varies by candidate and we encourage users to work at their own
pace so each section is fully understood before taking the exam. To get
to the section exam, all pages must have been read beforehand.
Progress is saved as a candiate works through the course, so they can
log out and resume where they left off whenever is convenient.
Sections one, two and three of the course will teach you about the legal
regulatory requirements you and your business must adhere to when
offering retail finance to your customers. Following these rules are a
legal requirement so you will need a 100% pass mark to proceed.
Sections four and five contain the additional skills and information to
make retail finance a success for your business, you will require an 80%
pass mark.
Don't worry if you don't pass first time, you can recap all or some of the module before retaking the end of section test.
Once completed you will receive a certificate and will be ready to
optimise one of the most powerful sales tools for your business.
