Multiple shops hit by bike theft

A number of independent bike shops have been targeted by thieves over the past few weeks, the latest being Corley Cycles in Milton Keynes, with 22 bikes worth around £70,000 stolen.

Thieves also targeted JE James in Rotherham at the end of last month and JC Cook Cycles in Grimsby last Thursday night, while 18 Bikes in Sheffield were hit over the weekend although nothing was stolen.

On their Facebook page Corley Cycles said "An awful lot of damage has been caused to the shop and circa £70k worth of stock has gone". They went on to post a list of the bikes that had been stolen:

JC Cook Cycles are offering a £2000 for information that leads to the conviction of the theieves and return of the 7 bikes that were stolen from their shop in Grimsby:

JE James Cycles in Rotherham is also offering a reward after thieves targeted the shop in the early hours of Saturday 28 July. The bikes stolen cost more than £11,000:

Orange Four Pro Minion Yellow - Medium

18 Bikes in the Peak District was the target of an attempted break-in on Sunday night, with thieves causing "a bit of damage to a couple of bikes and made a mess of the door and security grille," but nothing was taken.
